Microsoft has been launching testing (preview) products as well as final product which can work and stand out with their all new , much hyped Windows 8.As a part of this drive, Microsoft corporation has launched all new e-mail service , that is , outlook.com.As seen on the official blog post , both hotmail.com and outlook.com will be in action at the initial stage. This entire project is on the preview mode at present.

Will Outlook.com effect the user base of GMail or other other email providers
A simple answer of this question – NO. Outlook has created a tutorial guide for migrating from GMail to outlook. Most of the GMail users have never migrated to any other providers due to its features and a sentimental attachment towards GMail.
If this preview mode goes viral as expected by the company , Yahoo will surely have a major blow. Due to lack of features like Cloud Storage and WebApps , there is not a single reason to have a primary email account in Yahoo. Moreover, there are several security issues associated with Yahoo Mail.
